JAMES COOPER JR.

James Cottrell “Roadie” Cooper Jr., 25, of Magnolia, passed away Sunday, May 22, 2016, at Magnolia Regional Medical Center from injuries suffered in an automobile accident near Waldo. He was born Jan. 21, 1991 in Magnolia to James Cooper Sr. and Jacquelyn Willis.

He was a 2010 graduate of Magnolia High School, a member of Jones Chapel Baptist Church in Magnolia, and was employed with Deltic Timber Company in Magnolia.

He was preceded in death by his fraternal grandmother, Mary Jamerson.

Survivors include his mother and step-father, Jacquelyn and Joe Willis of Texarkana; his father, James Cooper Sr. of Magnolia; one son, Bentley Cooper of Magnolia; two daughters, Justice and Madisyn Cooper of Magnolia; his grandmother, Mary J. Edwards of Magnolia; four brothers, Ricardo French, Kentorius Carey, and Steven Burris, all of Magnolia, and Jamie Cooper of Kansas City, Mo.; one sister, Ja’Shunda Cooper of Homer, La.; and his grandfathers, Billy Gilmore and Henry Lee Cooper, both of Magnolia.

A homegoing celebration will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 28 at Columbia District Auditorium in Magnolia, with Bishop Charles Blanks officiating. Burial will follow at Scott Cemetery in Magnolia, under the direction of R.L. Reed Funeral Home of Magnolia.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Friday, July 27 at the funeral home.
